Frozen But Not Fish Less

Here's what a wet wooly bugger looks like in 18 degree weather. Frozen.

It was my first day fishing in 2014. I was at a tailwater in Brookville Indiana this past weekend and I pinned one rainbow around 16 inches off a white zuddler minnow. I'll admit it, I felt good.

What didn't feel good was the snow plow that dumped 40 pounds of snow on me while I was standing under the route 4 bridge, but that's how it goes in January fishing. Expect the unexpected.

Regardless, I got back out and it felt awesome after what feels like a long time away from the water.

The fishing will be good this year, I can feel it.

Thanks for reading,

  1. It's bad enough when the snow plow fills your driveway just after you shoveled it, but (and I know he had no idea you were down there) to get dumped on like that is bad. Hope all is well.

  2. 40 pounds of snow here in the deep south is an oddity, we are expecting 62 today.
